Equine Disease Communication Center
Helping horses by providing disease information and outbreak alerts
Funded through the Foundation by equine industry organizations, individuals, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC) works to protect horses and the horse industry from the threat of infectious diseases in North America.
Based at the AAEP offices in Lexington Kentucky, EDCC staff and its communication system are designed to seek and report real time information about disease outbreaks similar to how the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) alerts the human population about diseases in people.
To learn more or to sign up for alerts, visit the EDCC website.
